The villa originally spread over an area of more than 180 acres with a layout of some of the finest Italian villas and gardens attracts tourists from all over the world. The upkeep and the maintenance of the villa were originally left on the people for whom an entire village came into existence. The villa has now been sold off in parts to various bodies and trusts but the tourist attraction is retained and tourists are allowed inside the Villa Vizcaya at regular visiting hours every day.
