USA Weather and Climate

Hot and sunny at the Grand CanyonDepending on how you look at it, the USA is either the third or fourth biggest country on earth. Either way, the country is going to have nearly every weather extreme. Huge mountain ranges produce extremely low temperatures and snow, and wide-open beaches produce sizzling summers.

To provide an average weather rundown for most of the United States of America, we discuss weather conditions from the 4 corners of the country and from right in the middle. Starting from New York in the Northeast down the coast to Miami in the South. Then right across the country to Los Angeles in the Southwest and up to Seattle in the North. Finishing at Denver, the mile high city, right in the centre of the country.

In a nutshell, North America can get very cold and windy while Southern USA has lovely warm weather and an almost tropical climate. No matter what weather you like, you can find it in America.

New York Weather & Climate

There may not be major variations in the summer months but the New York weather is definitely not predictable but with a certain amount of accuracy, it can be said that New York is best in autumn and spring when the trees in Central Park are in a blaze of colours. That does not mean that you cannot expect a heavy thundershower in summer. Winters are not too comfortable if you are planning your trip during Christmas but if you are well prepared to stay indoors, New York is always welcome.

Miami Weather & Climate

Miami on the other hand is a paradise for those fun loving people who travel to USA for soaking in the Atlantic sands. The summers are amazingly fair to the people of Miami and quite naturally so since the equatorial climate does full justice to the summer months. Nevertheless, expect the heat grilling you down in August and September when the beaches are full of the fun loving people wanting to soak in the bounties of clear sunshine. Miami weather has winters, which are not that punishing, and people do enjoy the winter months as well.

Denver Weather & Climate

Denver weather is particularly friendly during the summer months when the temperature rises to tolerable limits and with low humidity do expect pleasant evenings in summer. Hotels are booked in the summer months as most of the conventions in Denver lying within the base folds of the Rocky Mountains are planned for the Denver summers. If you are holidaying with an eye on your purse, then the best Denver weather option would be winter. Winter is the best time to visit Denver since the hotels are also offering you rock-bottom discounts. Skiing being one of the most popular sports in winter, you can think of a trip to Denver during the winter months if you have skiing and other winter sport activities in mind.

Los Angeles Weather & Climate

In Los Angeles, the weather is in a steady pattern with cool winter months and relatively comfortable summer months as well. The Los Angeles weather is particularly very gratifying in the winter months though you do not have to really arm yourself to the brim with tonnes of woollens and cardigans. Los Angeles climate is not very unpredictable though since California is renowned to have more or less stable weather conditions throughout the year. However, specifically do visit Los Angeles during the fading summer months just when autumn is catching up. Pack a good amount of cottons and light woollen garments if you are on a visit to Los Angeles.

Seattle Weather & Climate

Aptly called the Rainy City, Seattle climate is extremely unpredictable. You may choose to visit Seattle during the summer months, but do expect to be caught unaware by a surprise sharp shower that will last for a few minutes but drench you to the skin. Shopping malls in Seattle are known to give out yellow umbrellas to help you to your car. Whenever you are in Seattle, do carry your umbrella along to keep you covered during the rains. Otherwise, the winters with comfortably cool temperatures in the evenings makes Seattle the traveller’s choice in the USA.
